I have a 2000 Prerunner, Reg Cab, 2wd, AT, 2.7, bucket seats with severe frame corrosion, however everything else works fine. (See picture)

My question is; can it be swapped onto a frame from a 2002, reg cab, 2.4, AT, 2WD, bench seat, that sits at the lower clearance height?

If no, is it possible to make one truck out of the two? For example, are the cabs interchangeable? Engine, trans, rear diff, beds?

I’ve got a doner truck (the 2002) with an excellent frame and am just trying to make something work.

If you're asking about swapping a 6-lug (Prerunner) body onto a 5-lug frame, there are significant differences in the frames to account for the different suspensions. Someone with a 5-lug Taco can speak to that.

Can confirm, it's been a headache trying to find some after market parts for a non-prerunner. Especially suspension.

Yes, my prerunner is 6 lug and the proposed donor vehicle is a 5 lug. Appreciate the information!

Would the prerunner 2.7l engine and transmission swap into the 2002 5 lug that has a 2.4L?

Every other post ended in some guy saying "pm me and I can help". Dead ends.

As far as I understand swapping between 2.4 and 2.7 engines requires bellhousing, computer, and splicing in sensor and wiring connections if you a different year than your truck. Does this mean the same pains for swapping 2.7 for 2.7 in different years?
