That's what I did when I bought my new 2005 X-runner.....saw that shit screwed to the dash and made them buy my a new panel, and a new harness since they cut it and put shitty crimp connectors everywhere.

Dealer installed GPS tracker. You'll need to trace the wires back to remove it and likely crimp a couple of wires together after it's removed. Be very careful about what and how you remove it, so you don't screw up any of the factory harness. I noticed mine when I went to install the redarc brake controller. It was fairly easy to remove and only one orange or pink wire (I think pink, because the orange appears to be used as extra wire) in my case needed to be crimped together after it was all removed.

You just made my point EXACTLY. You STILL have a choice. Don't buy the vehicle. Period. Full stop. Again, the circuit courts all over the country (one level below the Supreme Court) have ruled on this. Nobody forced you to buy a truck with etched windows.

If that is the only way Toyota sells them, so be it. But you STILL have a choice

Are you sure that is what that is? Why the dongle? A GPS chip and transmitter are tiny. I'm not arguing, just curious. That's a LOT of wires for a GPS device.

It's not factory equipment. Dealers install these to track stolen vehicles and for repo if customers don't pay. I suppose it could be some type of universal transmitter that dealers use to unlock the vehicle without a key while it's on the lot.

However, when I bought the truck new they tried to sell me some type of dealer installed alarm/tracking system. It was part of their addendum with tint, ect.
I refused to pay for it and they told me they would disable it and remove it. Clearly they didn't.

Years later I went to install the redarc controller and noticed it. The cnc bracket mounted exactly where the dealer hid that black box. I traced the wires back and removed it.

It's ridiculous that the factory wire harness now has a bunch of taps installed into it, because of this dealer installed garbage.

Disconnect your battery, so you don't trip the airbag in the foot well and then remove and trash the entire thing.

That's the best answer I can give you. :hattip:

sure, my choice was skipping this truck, waiting another 6 months for another inferno 4dr long bed to maybe come up on the market, and carting ladders and tools around in a sports car.

you remind me of all the software end user agreements i've had to agree to after already purchasing something... "NO PRESSURE, but not agreeing to the document means we lock you out of the device you already bought, and can't return!"

I dont think so, my plug in for penis pump has 2 lengths of 2/0 cable with lugs to a second battery. Hi-volume.

Got to be careful with it, it blew the end off my junk and now my wife calls me Stubby. Never did find the bell clapper end. I think the dog ran off with it.
