These ones will at least save you a bit of money to buy something else :). I have had them on my truck for almost 3 years with no issues at all.

Im running pro housings with the vleds vtails conversion kit. Definitely a nice upgrade with how much brighter it makes everything. The kit is pricey for what you get though if you ask me.

Yep I’ve had the exact same ones for 3 years as well. No issues at all.

    Itz JDM tyte, yo!
This is actually the thread I learned that the Tacoma TRD PRO comes with different taillights than the other trim levels. Thanks to this thread, I placed an order for the OEM 20+ Tacoma TRD PRO taillights during the 20% off Memorial Day sale from a Toyota parts dealer. I bought them to match the black LED headlights I have and also because I’m not a fan of the gray housing and chrome that the TRD Sport/TRD Off-Road taillights have.

OP, not only does the black TRD PRO taillights look great on your Army Green Tacoma, but it also looks great on my white Tacoma and any other color Tacomas! I included some before and after pics.

I’ll include the part numbers just in case anybody comes across this thread while searching the Internet:

Nice looking truck! I agree, much better with the black trim. I added some covers over mine.

I did aftermarket Pro style taillamps with the VTails harness and bulbs.
Also covered my mirror signals and 3rd brake light with some tint.
Even did all black box decals and proper black door emblems (not overlays). 20240413_140709.jpg

As it happens I have to replace one tail light on my 2021 TRD Sport. I've ordered a pair of the TRD Pro tails using part numbers 81560-04230 and 81550-04230.

The supplier is Toyotatown Parts Direct in London, Ontario. They're sales person emailed me saying the Pro tails lights aren't compatible with my TRD Sport based on my VIN.

Am I safe to presume the Pro light with these part numbers are fully plug and play, and they don't know what they're talking about about or just limiting the return criteria as much as possible?

Sales person emailed to say they can ship them but based on VIN incompatibility they won't accept a return...

    Thoughts?

I have a 2017 TRD Sport. Does anyone know if these are plug and play for that year? If not is there a conversion harness available?

The lights are the same and interchangable. The sales person doesnt know what hes talking about in this instance. they only know how to sell OEM parts specific to your VIN
