There's an angle I didn't think of. The folks putting "raptor" lights on their Tacomas are doing it for the laughs of others. I get it now and I enjoy the laughs - thank you!

Well, the OP asked so I commented. I don't go around complaining about them.

It's the constant blinding I get from every other car on the road having too many lights. Cars and trucks don't need 3 or 4 sets of lights going at once.

we added Raptor lights to a golf cart because it look kool and it’s a brolander. A dorkle is next even though it’s electric, the water crossing here are deep. Just printed a scan gauge 3 holder to monitor the ATF, engine temp, speedo, and wind direction. That’s getting done today

“People shouldn’t care what others put on their truck”
    “Don’t share negative opinions”
That all applies to non-truck fashion too right?

Obviously it is all opinion-perception based. Some people are just really really sensitive to criticism

I always chuckle when I see bone stock Tacomas and 4Runners with bright ass raptor lights.

While Im here with a 87" wide Tacoma (2" wider than a raptor) and I'm running no raptor lights. IMO they look like shit

What drives me is the constant harping on Raptor lights, why they’re stupid, why you want to be a Ford, just stupid!! I have them because I like them, that’s it!! I know hard to believe!!! I’m all about opinions, but to constantly criticize something because you don’t like it, ok, just don’t look at them then :)

There's constructive criticism and there's just wide-open criticism.

    There's also tact.

I've seen both ends of the spectrum in life and on forums.

One thing I learned from riding a motorcycle is the term "target fixation."

Life is full of lessons...I learn something on TW everyday. :)

The Ford Raptors are required by Federal law to have them to identify as an oversized vehicle. Front and rear.

If you’re 2” wider, you should probably modify your truck to look “like shit” if you drive on public roads.

Same reason as "leveling" kits. The Bro factor.

At the end of the day- folks are allowed to do pretty much whatever they want. But, they should not try to dictate others reactions or responses to those actions. I have done that myself. I frequently see things I disagree with and know that it’s “not for me” and act accordingly. My actions speak for me. I don’t feel the need to bash others for their decisions or criticize them if its “not for me”. I embrace the fact that we all like different stuff and have different priorities.

My example- Putting Baja-trophy truck fenders on a daily driver is not for me. Do I need to say anything else? Nope…that’s why I don’t have them on my truck.

The moment I get pulled over for not having marking lights, then I'll look like every other Tacoma on the road.
But I've been driving around with an 87" width for 8 months and have no issue
