I installed the Toyota OEM 6' Tonneau Cover today, part # PT954-35241. Looks great, appears to be the same as the Bakflip MX4. Took just over an hour to install, seems lighter than the MX4 cover for the 3rd Gen.

Mind sharing how much it cost and if it's lockable?

How is the fit at the front of the bed?

Looks just like a Bak Flip. The only bad thing is with it folded all the way up it blocks the entire rear window.

Damn that looks great! Seems so much better than the 3rd gen OEM tonneau.

Does look nice! I wasn’t aware Toyota was making one. I would guess there is a short bed version?

As long as you keep your truck locked you should be good, as I believe all of the trims (with possibly the exception of the SR) come standard with a power locking tailgate.

Can you still use the tracks? On the earlier MX4 you have to remove and reinstall them.

The Toyota parts guide says it's basically incompatible with anything that would use the rails and bed racks. At least the OEM ones.

We can definitely put a bed rack over that cover.

Thanks for the info and pics, fast31. It presently seems that the OEM cover is the only game in town. Maybe others later. I'm very interested in the installation and what you had to do with the bed rails, if anything. I get the impression that they're not moved, but are now unusable. If you could spare the time to post a photo of a rail with the tonneau installed, it would be helpful - they're just not visible in your open tailgate pic.

Very simple install, the rails are removed by removing x6 T30 machine screws, they are still usable as they are remounted to brackets that are installed with the side tonneau cover rails. I don't have BEFORE pics but this is what it looks like after installation

Many thanks, fast31. Greats information. I can see in the photo where the top edge of the rail was mounted previously. I'm going to order this tonneau as soon as I find the best price. Did the cover come with mounting instructions?

It didn't come with instructions but there's a good YouTube video for a tundra, it's the same installation. I'm sure the dealer could print out instructions as there was a note on the box that stated the instructions could be found in the Toyota database

Again, thank you. I'm sure that I can figure it out, but I'll look at the YouTube video.

Looks more like the Leer 650 to me than a BAK MX4...

Does the Leer cover use relocation brackets for the factory accessory rails?

Many thanks again to the OP for the information. I successfully installed the PT954-35241 tonneau cover yesterday. Easy job. Looks great. Bed mat next.
