I was going to pass it up, but then realized that my reptile brain said yes before I had time to think about "yet another bottle"....oh well, here we go!

There is NO WAY anyone will ever convince me that anyone gets all that from a sip of any bourbon. It's laughable, actually.

You gotta get all fancy panties to get the notes. I wear fluffy silk ones, with little blue bows. Matt from ADHD Whisky let me know this is how you get all the notes and subtleties. Get with it Marine! Panty up! Get fancy!

I can pick up a few notes here and there like oak, vanilla, corn, rye etc. I agree that some of the notes are ridiculous. I have no idea what dark fired tobacco is, let alone what it tastes like lol.

Before I read that review here were all the flavors I picked up:
    Molasses
    Berry of some kind
    Leather
    Chocolate
    Oak
    Caramel

And something not named in the review, just the tiniest hint of mint.

So I don’t find that review ridiculous at all. When I revisited the pour after reading the review I could pick up the graham cracker and the tobacco, and something vaguely nutty.

To specify the molasses as “sorghum” and say “almond croissant” instead of just almond, those are too particular for me to believe, but overall it’s a review that pretty well aligned with what I tasted, and I don’t have an expert palate. But I take a pour slowly and sit there and try to figure out the flavors.

It's pretty odd around here, almost nothing but the basic 1792, good luck finding Sweet Wheat, and 12 year...forget it

I feel that the flavors described are from a group of reviewers that elaborate what they each tasted.

given that every person out there has a different palate, it would make sense to provide flavor descriptions from a group of tasters vs just one person.

    exactly this.

this is the beauty about the world of bourbon. a lot of us dont like the same stuff, its a matter of palate.
