Hello! New here…the low beam projector casing in my headlights on my 2018 SR5 looks hazy. Not sure if it’s on the inside or out. Is there a way to effectively clean and clear the haze/fog out of the casing?

Everything I’ve seen looks like it’s difficult to remove the entire headlight which I’d like to avoid if possible. Any recommendations? Thanks yall!

Default H11 low beam bulbs do not help with brightness or clarity. You can start buying Philips H9 (I buy NAPA H9 bulbs) that install easily into low-beam after you remove the green insert.

A place to start if nothing else ...

You should have a better look and figure out if it has hazing on the outside or inside. The outside can loose their coating in the elements. That can be wet sanded and cleared up,,, but then will return quicker since that coating (whatever it is) is gone. The top portions of both of mine are showing this on my 2019.

If the inside is hazy it probably has excessive moisture and is easier to replace.

if the outside is hazed over, there are some corrective polishes that can be used to bring it back. but typically the hazing is caused by the exterior layer of UV protection failing, so many corrective polishes are only a stop-gap solution, and need to be re-applied later on, depending on how much sun exposure the vehicle gets.

generally, it's usually cheaper/easier to replace the headlights with new OEM replacements than it is to fuss with the different stop-gap solutions.
