Headed to meet a fellow TW member and my partner in crime @faawrenchbndr in person for the first time (Greg the Editor from the channel) while also making our first leg of the move to New York.

Definitely will take a close look at the route. I’ll be jumping down to Northwest Arkansas (old stomping grounds) to stay with some family for a couple days and do a collab with Backwoods Adventure Mods.

36 through Missouri is 4 lane with 2 stop lights near the i35 junction
very little big rig traffic but has cross traffic turning
blinding hills you cannot see on the other side, so a bit of a hazard
but from Arkansas it might be a bit out of the way to climb back that far north!
so your planned i44 makes more sense

are you going to take and post some pics of your adventures?

Not sure when you’ll be through Wichita but doo-dah diner or the monarch are two of many excellent food choices there.

Watch for cops in ohio. They're behind every blade of grass between zanesville and the pa border.

Towing that anchor, the only time he will be doing 20 over is downhill. My 17 hates that uhaul trailer.

I pulled from Dallas to Colorado Springs a few weeks back. The elevation gain and headwind weren’t helpful. Averaged 13.5. Hoping to average 15ish on this route.

That is the rub, it has plenty of juice to pull it, you just can't pass many gas stations.

When I flat towed my wrangler behind my taco from NW Arkansas to Colorado Springs… that was a real nail biter once or twice on fuel. Averaged about 11.5 then.

Nice! Last year we did a trip from MD to MT and back.

This year we are doing a full cross country road trip and making it all the way to Washington State. The 3rd Gen is a great road trip workhorse.

I-40 sucks out west. Way better options if you're not in a hurry.

you should wheel a quarter-century-old Gen1 with +300k miles from Key West Florida to the top of Maine in Quebec over a week stretch taking the back roads LOL
that was the adventure, especially crossing the Canadian border
with a pending leaky steering rack that broke in New York

Haha now that sounds like an adventure. My 3rd Gen has actually been to Quebec twice already!
