    Hi guys,

I am having issue and I would like to know if anyone had this issue. I just did the upgrade of the headlights from 2019 TRD to 2022 TRD pro, I used the conversion connectors the passenger side the DRL is not turning on, the driver side is all working correctly. I would like to know of anyone had similar issue before, headlights were bought used but look like new. Could it be that it is damaged?
    Thanks in advance

Which harness are you using for the conversion? All the connections tight and connected correctly?

edit: Did you test or see these headlights working before buying?

Parking brake must be down and light stalk must be switched to the first notch for DRL operation, but I'm sure you're aware of that.

The second notch turns on the "trd" and "pro" emblem backlights, and the third turns on the headlights. At least that's how it works with my base 2017 trd or tacoma.

First, as a general note, I always encourage testing the headlights before installing them. That way if you have a bad harness or headlight or anything, not only will it have saved you the trouble of installing it (and possibly uninstalling it), but it makes it a lot easier to troubleshoot.

That being said, I would start by swapping the harnesses side to side. If the issue follows the harness, then you know the harness is bad. If it doesn’t, then we need to look at two things:
Is the power on the DRL plug from the truck? There is a little 4 position plug with three wires (green, blue, and white/black stripe). If you have a meter or test light, we want to verify there is 12V at the green wire. If there is, then it could be a bad headlight. To test that, there are a couple options. A) take the passengers headlight (bad?) and plug it in to the drivers side (known to work). If it works over there, it isn’t the headlight. If it doesn’t work, you probably have a bad headlight. Option B would be to get a couple wire leads and jump the DRL/ground to the battery and see if it lights up. If it comes down to this, shoot me a PM…

Make sure none of the connectors are plugged in upside down. Made that same mistake and it took me about 30 mins of screaming and cursing at my truck to figure it out lol.

Thanks all of you guys for your help, definitely the DRL is bad, I did the test plugging in the other side and didn’t work. I will buy a new one.

    Regards,

    Monse
