IMG_2107.jpg IMG_2108.jpg Thats a big gap. Not saying you installed it wrong but are the clamps adjusted all the way down on the rails? You could add some thick foam insulation to the tonneau . I had a similar issue with my tri fold cover and i ended up putting some cleats and rope to the tonneau to pull it down and keeping someone from reaching there hands in there.basically just tying a knot to the rail of the tonneau and pulling down tight and clamping it. Takes only seconds to do and undo. My pics always end up first before the post

It's the wrong tonneau cover. I'm betting you have a early gen 2, 05-11? That tonneau cover looks like it is for a gen 2.5, 12-15. They have taller tailgates and the front of the bed is taller as well. Easy fix would be to swap out the front and rear gaskets with ones that are thicker.

I have a 2012 and my tailgate/front of bed are shorter than the side rails like this. I just started looking up trifold tonneaus, do kits normally come with accomodations for that gap? It's usually a universal 2005-2015 choice for year range.

Some do and some don't. Depending on where you are, I'm in SoCal, I've got my soft top tri-fold for sale as I've switched to a one piece hard tonneau.

Which ones do? I'm finding it hard to discern on line, and they all seem to have been bought up by Real Truck anyway.

    I'm in MA, but thanks!

Throw in a tail gate pad.
Or there was a thread on this form about a custom made plastic, that is raised. Can’t find it tho.

I'd link the one I got on Amazon but it's out of stock. Worse case you can always put a rubber seal on top of the tail gate so it raises up to meet the tonneau.

I used this when refurbing my hard tonneau.
