Alpine MRP-F300 question

With this amp could I bridge it to two channels and feed the front door components(SPR-17S) and then just feed my rear door coaxials(TBD) from the head unit(CDA-105)?

That way I get more(75 RMS??) to my fronts where 99% of the time I need them, have a little "fill" from the back...and when people are back there it won't sound completely bad?

I have previous posts regarding determining my set up. Basically I bought the KTP-445 and CDA-105, and SPR-17S's...but can still return the KTP-445 and get a different amp. I really want to stay at $200 for the amp since I would need to get wiring kit, speaker wire, and rear door speakers yet.

 

Yes, you can, though it will be 150w X 2 in bridged mode.

Follow the directions in the manual for running bridged (page 13 here)

Make sure you run from the front outputs on the head unit,and you will still have fade ability.

 

Thanks. Couple questions then. Will 150w be OK for the Type R speakers? Rated at 110w.

Will the rear speakers really effect the sound int he front. I KNOW the whole "you don't need rear speakers" thing. I have faded mine out...and left them liek that for days...then faded them back in....and I do liek the sound of soem rear fill. That's why I thought this may be a decent solution to get a decent amp at $200 and still get close to the 100w RMS to the Type Rs.

 

Yes, it should be fine. You should easily be able to tell if you are giving them too much power, and they will be painful to listen to at that volume. Keep it reasonable, and set the gain properly, and you will be fine.

Rear fill is personal. I dont like it, and feel it distracts from my listening up front and the setup I have going.

Others love it, and must have it. If you are one of those, rock it. No one else matters (unless you are competing... ) so if you like a bit o' rear sound, knock yourself out!
