    Hey guys,

    My name is Alex.

I don't currently have a Tacoma. I have a 2022 Jeep Gladiator, but I have seen a lot of content on Tacomas. Mike from Last Line of Defense and Mike from Fieldcraft Survival both have Tacomas. The former swears by Toyotas.

When I originally was shopping for a truck I had considered the Tacoma but I really didn't like the power output of the engine available at the time.

I am really impressed with the 2024 iForce Max performance in both the numbers and what I've seen.

I've always liked that you get a lot more with the Tacoma than you get with the Jeeps. With the Jeeps everything is an option that adds on like $1000-$2000. With the Tacoma you get all the stuff that you get, the 360 camera, all this other stuff. You guys know I'm sure.

But I am really impressed with the 2024. The new 360 cameras seem very HD and super impressed with the AC outlet in the bed.

And of course the thing I've always loved about this is that Toyota gives most of it to you standard.

I've never felt like I could get exactly what I want with Jeep and they always seem to discontinue what I wanted. Not very satisfied with the power of the Jeep V6 I wanted to get the Diesel but they discontinued that, but with the Toyota configurator I feel like I can get exactly what I want.

The other I love is the gas mileage.. I did a road trip with the Jeep man, and I had to stop for gas every 2 hours.. Just having to stop every two hours.. And I get ~12mpg combined. So the Tacoma is really impressive with that..

I think it fits the bill for me because I can't continue driving a vehicle that is 12mpg and I can't afford to own two vehicles right now.

2024 Tacoma ticks all the boxes:

    - good gas mileage
    - truck
    - looks great. I can keep my rep you know what I mean LOL.
    - all the power I'll ever need
    - overlanding capability

I'm thinking of getting the Trailhunter just because when I bought the Gladiator, all the extra stuff I'd need to go overlanding is just so expensive I was never able to get it.

I need to pick and choose where my money goes, and right now paying off debt and putting money away is most important. The Trailhunter is about what I paid for my Gladiator and has everything I need already there. Don't need to get anything else except maybe a RTT.

I just don't want to have to spend money building a rig. So that fits perfect.

Maybe eventually put 35s on it but I don't really want to go too crazy.

Seeing the capability of the Jeep without using any of the bells and whistles I've realized I probably will not have any negative affects from not putting 37s/40s .. I don't even think I'd need 35s but they look nice. It's a nice to have for the future.

Anyway great to be here! Can't wait until I'm able to trade in my Gladiator IF I like the Tacoma. I like everything I've seen so far but I haven't driven one yet.

But mostly everything seems to point to that this is the best decision. I have to have power and performance. I need to be able to do truck stuff. I want decent gas mileage.

Here in Texas everything is spread out so there's a lot of driving.
