Guess I am being “that guy”…. Isn’t this just a part of open wheel road racing? Sounds like next step is dust arresters on rally cars.

These drivers are millennials, they need perfect conditions.

As long as the tire displaces water from the contact patch, where the contained spray goes is moot.

But keep open wheel racing, open wheel.

That is a picture of the cars during testing of the rain shields. I meant it to illustrate that they don't seem to do much.

If anything it seems like they would keep water on the racing line.

In light rain conditions there would be less track drying effect. But maybe under bad full wet conditions they might allow races to continue.

Edit - or not. Guess they will learn something from testing other than they look like disgusting hemorrhoids on the cars.

As a long time McLaren fan, I wanted to decorate part of my office at my practice with my love of F1 and McLaren. Lando's win gave me the motivation. I made a custom mount for my Lego 2022 McLaren F1 car,
    https://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Technic...&qid=1715638642&sprefix=lego+Mc,aps,97&sr=8-4

And I surrounded it with the Word Race Circuits Ultimate F1 collection (scale copy of every F1 track ever raced). It has the name of the track etched on the side of each track.

Let’s see if Lando can upgrade his previous best of 2nd to 1st this weekend at Imola…with a little bit of luck, maybe.IMG_0001.jpg

It's getting better. At least Verstappen wasn't out in front by 30 seconds within the first five laps.

IMO not much of a race. Lando ran hard at the end and we have confirmation that the top three teams are closer. <shrug> Oh yea, and Sergio Perez sucked ... again.

Not as exciting as they usually are at Emilia. BUt there's always next year.
