3rd gen DIY flatbeds

There aren't many options for flatbeds. I'm building my own. 2 in floor toolboxes, a crossmember that doubles as an air tank, inside bed ATV ramp storage and winch behind the headache rack. The whole floor is stainless, all very durable. It is a little heavy but not bad.

Thank you buddy! I've been working on it about 4 days now. I anticipate it'll be done in the next few days. I have my CNC table, welding table and all my tools right there so I draw, cut and weld. I'll keep you posted. The headache rack is very unique, I will say that!

How much weight does this add to the load capacity of the truck. I means that is metal it must be heavy. just asking but you are doing a great job of it.

Build in a removable panel to access the fuel pump, might need it someday.

 

That looks really heavy. Are you updating the springs as well?

I hope you weight scaled it in stock form and will do so after to see how much it bulked up. That would seem to be much heavier than the composite bed and sheet metal skins that came off.

 

This is rad, can’t wait to follow along.

Hasn't logged on since May 27.

 

Considering the thickness of plate it looks extremely heavy.

 

@TacomaDad18 has a flatbed too, and a v8

 

I consider it an offroad bed lol. The factory tin can bed was getting beat up every time I went out wheelin.
