    Looks pretty good for starters.

Add a little bit of weight

    KIMG3989.jpg

    and perfect. :)

The balancer is very old but works quite nicely, just take your time.

House- old Victorian about 2400 sq ft. on .47 acres. Has town water and sewer which is quite a bonus! Period carraige house plus a seperate 2 car garage on it’s own driveway. A nice little compund but we’d sell it in a heartbeat if my neighbor wasn’t such an a-hole about this ROW. We figure we’re a couple years out to resolve this mess.

In the meantime, we’re looking and can buy but we’re not gonna settle for what we don’t want. Plus, we’d like to retire before we die…. Never thought we’d be looking again at this point in our lives.

This machine is probably built prior to 1974 when that became law.

One thing that really bugs me is a car that shakes.

I have balanced 100's of tires with it and never had a shake.

Using it is all about taking your time.
Also most people who use them aren't using them correctly.

Up to about 1 oz you can just clip a single weight to the outside of the rim.

For a larger imbalance the manual directs you to use a group of 4 weights equal distance away from the light spot, 2 per side.

That takes some time & fiddling to get right but it works nicely.

One thing it can't do is show you an out of true rim (or tire) that will be immediately obvious on a spin balancer.

It is a Coats M-76 like this:

    coatsmicroprecisionm-76wheelbalancer_eaa7fd01601b4508b3cab3ee625ed4ec.jpg

These aren't uncommon to find and priced from "take it away" to silly expensive. Many older tire shops have one stuffed in a corner somewhere.

The center is too large for some aluminum wheels and the cone that centers the wheel is too small for large center hole wheels like an F-250, it barely touches on the Tacoma wheels.

Balancing a tire isn't a difficult task, however finding a place to do it well unfortunately is.

If you do look at one make sure the bubble has fluid in it, sometimes you will find them with a little plastic stick-on bullseye level, way inferior to the original. The bubble assembly will have a serial number that should match the base.

    71-rgO11QkL._AC_SL1500_.jpg

They made adapters for larger truck wheels, VW, etc. - they sell for crazy money now.
The ones pictured below had an asking price of $599!

I’ve seen one used at a old used tire shop years ago. I have done enough tire and wheel swapping in the last few years to make me want one of my own.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I live in what was the former shop office.

I need to measure but I guess 15'x15' maybe smaller.

On another note I was doing so good for many years but I feel hard off the wagon.

It is what it is but I must say I feel better now than the last 5 years. It is going to be expensive but well worth the price.

Maybe 3000 miles in one week. All at night I really don't like the sun.
