Leaking under the passenger seat

Hi All,

I have a 2023 Tacoma SR model. I have recently noticed some leaks under the passenger seat when I park the car and come back to it. It is not greasy and looks clear. I am assuming it is water. I have posted some photos for reference. Is it something I should be worried about?

Yes I have been but always been running it. Like why this time I see water under the front passenger seat?

 

There is a drain from the evaporator. The is also discussion on how to extend the drain below the frame to avoid frame rust.

 

That's water from the AC drip line. 1000000% normal

ahh ... your truck saw another tacoma with larger tires and got scared. Completely natural, nothing to be ashamed of.

Do all the tacomas have this issue or is something the factory has corrected

Every car with an AC has a drip line to the outside

 

Been going on for years. Toyota doesn't consider it a problem so no corrections made.

 

Do you mean the drain location how it dumps right onto the frame?

If yes, my old Mazda 6 had it and rotted the whole subframe. Happily, the OEM put out a recall for that, and I got a brand new subframe for free. Did they put a new designed drain line on? No LOL

 

My AC drip line was dripping right on top of an electrical connection lol

Only on the outside of the truck correct? That's normal. You shouldn't have any water on the interior of the vehicle.

 

Yeah only on the outside. I am trying to figure an easy way to have it not on the frame so the frame does not rust.

 

Most just use a hose clamp, a piece of hose and a few zip ties.

Hundreds of owners have done this mod. You shouldn't have any issues. Only inconvenience is having to remove the hose to clean the ac coils.
I never bothered. Going on almost 8 years with my 2017, no rust. Live in AZ though.
