Is this too much play in drivers cv axle?

Hey all I have an 08 2.7l manual single cab. I was sanding underneath the truck and noticed the cv axle in the driver side has significantly more play than the passenger side. There is a click when I turn the wheel to the right only while in reverse. Is it obvious to assume the cv axle will need repairing?

sounds like a CV axle needs a replacement, where is the play? at the differential? ECGS bushing upgrade at the same time will serve you well.

More play in the drivers side is NORMAL.
Excessive play will cause vibrations. When this happens, you replace the bearing with a bushing.
If you have no vibrations and the axle seal is not leaking, I'd leave it alone.

Looks normal if you are still on the OE bearing.

A clicking from the right side doesn't indicate a bad left CV axle.

    I'm saying, leave it alone.
