I was able to swap powered seats from a 2021 Tacoma into my 2005 Tacoma.

    Very nice!

We’re the original 2005 seats powered?

nope! I don’t think they offered a powered seat for the Tacoma until 2020.

Would be great to get some more details on how you did this! How did you source the seats/parts?

I found the seats via a totaled 21 Tacoma on FB marketplace. Everything bolts right up. Backseats are still utilizing the stock seat belts until I swap the buckles. Same goes for the front seats. The passenger seat harness is the exact same for my 2005. I don't have the heaters wired yet for either seats. I also don't have the side airbags, so those are left unplugged. The driver's seat requires some wiring to a 30 amp fuse. I took the harness off the 2005 seat and wired it for the new seat so I can unplug the seats with ease.
