I never removed the chin spoiler on my third gen, but I covered the front of my 4th gen with a tarp in the parking lot and drove it home to avoid humiliation. Weird that people were still making fun of me during the drive home! I called ahead and asked my wife to have a 10mm socket ready so that the shame could end ASAP. She had a hammer, but I thanked her for trying.

    Just took mine off.

Will say that it is not that easy if you don't get under the truck and if you don't have power tools. I was kneeling with a phillips head and a 10mm ratchet and and by the time I had one screw left the whole piece was bowing down making it hard to both kneel down, unscrew and hold up the piece so had to solicit some help from the wife.

I haven't put the screws back in as trying to blind thread it was not working, will need to find a dirty pillow and get underneath to secure the felt.

    Truck looks 1000x better already.

Edit: screwed are in. It seems that the outer most two on the sides are the most important as they hold the felt in place.

The ones in the front mostly go nowhere except attach to the lower plastic valence, put them in anyway.

I'm leaving the chin on mine until I install winter tires in early Nov. After 3 week's of ownership i hardly even notice it.I'll decide next April if I reinstall.

I took mine off a couple days ago and reset the trip info. So far my average mpg is slightly higher. I’m an outside sales rep and drive a similar route every week. I’ll report back when I hit 4K miles. That will be 2k with and 2k without the lip.

The Dam has a purpose. I made Mid-speaker (dash) mounts out of mine.

I'm a proponent of chin surgery BUT...

    1. Who's going to be the first to add "TOYOTA" letters in white (or high contrast color) to the spoiler
    2. Add teeth or tongue
    3. ...

Then it'll be the craze to buy the chin spoiler again... :anonymous:

The “chin” is not my preference.…

But from straight on, it does remind me a little of the old school cab-over semi design. Worked for Optimus Prime…

Looks so much better without the air dam. Nice looking truck OP.
