    Anyone know what causes key remote to unlock but not lock? The remote has a new battery.

    A bad door switch can cause your issue too.

    You can NOT lock the doors with a door open from the key fob.
    See if the "door open" light is on, on the dash with the doors closed.

    Ok, I went out and checked, apparently the driver's door looked completely closed but wasn't, that explains why the switch ated like a door open, opened and closed the door and everything works like it should.
