I have my local dealership wanting me to trade in my 2023 SR5 V6 for a 2024 SR. They are willing to payoff my 2023. While I know that the new tacomas have the 4 cylinder with turbos, what are some other differences? What would you guys do? I’ve tried having them throw in some extra things to the 2024 but they won’t budge.

By them paying off you are essentially making a purchase with zero down, and thus that much further away from getting out of the upsidedown?

You do you, but that's not a transaction that I would agree to.

thank you. I’m leaning towards keeping it. There are a couple of things I want to add to my 2023 and after that would be pretty happy with it.

With new gens of both my trucks, there is a temptation to get a new model. At the end of the day for me, they might offer some new wants but nothing I need.

So, I’m not budging. To me my trucks are still new. 16 taco 56k miles. 17 tundra 33k miles. Haven’t had an issue with either. And new model prices are just a turn off for me with not much new justification for me to update. I’m happy with my trucks. I don’t need new.

    His phrasing is vague.

It could be interpreted 2 ways. They’re giving him how much he owes on it, thus paying it off.

    or

they’re paying it off (because every car deal is contingent on a paid off trade), and rolling negative equity over.

need way more info. Selling price of truck v MSRP , trade value, payoff, interest rate, etc.

Remember, the SR is leaf springs and a detuned engine compared to even the SR5 trim...
