GOOD FOR YOU! Sore is good, but hurt is over working! Be safe!
It’s my kettlebell day. Seems to help with not only muscle, but balance and ligaments. I enjoy it!

Well the weatherman changed his mind and it’s going to be 65* and either cloudy or sunny! Anyway there definitely will be weather today! So, I will be out if it’s sunny or inside if not. Who knows?

I hope everyone has some good weather so you can get out and stretch your legs!

Great choice for a mattress. We have an older M8 with the vibrating frame and love it.

Good morning. Yesterday was long but it is done. Tonight, my son is performing at Pirates Cove restaurant, and we will be there.

Just got done mowing part of the pasture (foxtails) with my 18 year old $125 Briggs & Stratton mower that refuses to die. I got a little into it and it was tough... and I questioned whether I should do the whole thing or do half tomorrow. Old age and the continuing decline and all that. So I got a little done and said... I can do a little more... and before I knew it I'd done half and the other half didn't look so intimidating. Yeah... I just couldn't quit and it's done. I found a fresh gopher mound so I'll have to deal with that. Nice cool morning, tomatoes planted yesterday, and when I came in John Denver on the devil's box (Alexa) singing Annie's song, the wife in tears and ready for a big, enduring hug. Life is good.

I replaced the bulbs in the post lamps along the driveway
Put up a swarm trap changed the oil in the John Deere mower and while the grease gun was out greased the Tacoma driveshaft
The swarm trap is the wood box up in the tree by the ladder

    Afternoon all:

First time I heard of a swarm trap, do you need to put a queen in it first to attract other bees?

Dreary day today, dug out five 15" steel six lug Tacoma wheels that I had laying around and gave them to my hunting buddy to scrap. No use for them anymore since they went to 16" rims, and the TRD Sport has 17's. I think I also tried them on my "07" Tacoma to see if they would fit and maybe mount winter tires on them, they wouldn't clear the larger brake calipers without using a spacer. Now that I got rid of them, I'll probably find a use for them!
We were sitting on his porch and a hummingbird flew by, he said it was the first one he saw this year. His wife has lots of flowers, he also mentioned that there are very few honeybees around anymore.

This year we never got the hummingbird migration numbers we usually get. We might have seen six or so in the same day, when we usually see 30 or even more and then they thin out as the summer gets warmer. And we have a big crab apple that blossoms out, and the bees usually sound so loud beneath it that you have to raise your voice to hear each other. Maybe a thousand bees at any one time. Last year and this there were very few, hard to say how few but if I was to guess there weren't more than ten at a time.

The swarm trap is an attractive home for the bees to make a hive.
A swarm is started when an established hive has outgrown its Box and the bees create a new queen then the new queen or the old queen leaves the hive taking a portion of the bees from the overcrowded hive and look for a new home
Hopefully the bee scouts find your trap attractive and they move in and begin making comb and the queen starts depositing fertilized eggs in the comb, while the other bees continue building out more comb and filling the cells with honey
Inside the trap is four frames that are attractive to the bees to build comb on. After the bees move into the trap and start their hive on the frames in the trap you move the four frames into a regular hive box and let them build up a new hive

I want to have a hive, but they spray for mosquito's, so no bee hive for me. They do have to spray for those things or they'd take over the neighborhood - they are bad here.

A few years ago my red bud would have hundreds of bees on it when it was blooming. This year, maybe 50 or so, but again the tree is on it's last legs (only supposed to live 20 years and it's on year 21 now and not doing very well) and not very many flowers

    evening boys

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Around here, I've already seen more bees this year than I remember seeing all of last year. Hopefully a sign.
