Been looking at 2019- 2021 Tacomas and my 2015 has the tow package with 130 amp Alternator and 27F battery. The one I looked at yesterday 2020 had the factory hitch but battery was a 24? The dealer a Ford dealer did not have a clue?

Stock on the 3rd gen is 24F, however a 27F can fit using the factory plastic tray from a 2nd gen I believe. I forget the part numbers.

I debated going 27F on mine, but with how often the inner fenders seem to crack, I figured I may as well stay away from extra weight, so I went with a new flooded 24F.

His confusion is that it has the factory tow package but not a 27F battery. 2nd gens had a 24F without tow and a 27F with tow. 3rd gens changed that and went with all 24F regardless.

to key points to keep in mind. Often times a four-year-old truck is going to have the battery replaced. Second, 2020 did not come with a group 27 battery came with a 24.

Can’t compare apples to marches, just as they removed the auxiliary transmission cooler, other changes have happened like the battery

Thank you thank you!! The dealership I went there yesterday Did Not Have a Clue and my sales person pissed me off with low ball offer right out of the box. It was a Ford dealership. What I looked at had the factory installed hitch and plugs but 24F battery unlike my 2015.

The one who dies with the most stuff wins.
I know this isn't the topic of this thread but I really don't think battery weight adds to the core supports cracking. Mine are cracked on both sides, and I haven't added anything to the passenger side.

Maybe not. I forget what all I found but when I was searching people’s thoughts on if the battery upsize was worth it, there seemed to be a consensus that the extra weight could do it, especially when using an AGM. So it seemed easiest to just stick to stock and hope for the best. That said, there are plenty who cracked anyways so maybe it doesn’t matter. I just didn’t want to possibly increase the chances.
