Will a 2nd gen walk in cap fit a 3rd gen?

    Found a decent price for a walk in ARE cap that was previously on a 2nd gen. I know the 2nd gen toppers have some issues fitting 3rd gens due to the tailgate differences. Since I would be removing the tailgate, would there be any other trouble getting this to fit?

    Bed depth is deeper on 3rd gens
    You would need to do something about it, but likely easier than the other way around
