    That's kinda my point :)

But did you notice the language? It basically says "if you don't get your shit together, I will close...indefinitely".

The other frustrating thing is that the bathrooms were damaged a few years ago and they were never repaired, just closed down indefinitely. What did the forest service expect to happen when they effectively took away the bathrooms that visitors were accustomed to?

That explains why I haven’t seen him around lately. I now have a reason to visit Utah!

You can blame me, he met a girl (my friend) who met us in Moab for my bday last year

They're meeting us for memorial weekend in NV though if you've got the time off. Friday-Monday with a meet-up in Walker Saturday for lunch.

Got some worms, cooler, ice, beverages and adult beverages, and a full tank of gas.
Headed out to an Apline Lake to do some trout fishing and light wheeling.

Winched a bunch of down trees and cleared the road and trail. Put the rear locker to use on some snow drifts and winched myself out of a larger drift.

Then blocked by a huge tree. Went around and tried accessing the fishing hole and blocked by another huge tree.

So..even with a chain saw it would have taken hours to clear the massive down tree. Made the best of it and let the dog loose and walked around the trails looking at snow plants and mushrooms.

On the way out, drove through and over a snow drift I had plowed throw earlier and then…..

    what had happened was……

The adjustable clip on the 5100’s gave out and I bottomed out. Couldn’t turn left without rubbing the crap out of the fender but I limped home with 3 shocks.

When I installed a set on my dad's 2nd gen, I always wondered how these little clips held up. Thanks for sharing.

Hoping wheelers were more civilized than just leaving their literal shit out? Tbh tho, I blame the boaters.:D

Cat holing is only appropriate, if ever nowadays, when backpacking. Too many people at established sites like gl for that business.
    Sigh.

I'm not sure cat-holing is appropriate anymore. Some groups are advocating poop tubes (a 6" sewer pipe to carry baggies) much like big wall climbers are encouraged to do these days.

Yep, sorry.. moving states is a pain. But Utah is amazing so far, 4wheeling and camping is anywhere you drive, and there are dirt roads that go forever. You can blame @530Taco, but I've been wanting to move states for a long time.

Let me know if you guys are coming this way. I've been finding awesome camp spots and Moab is still my favorite place.

FYI - Niagara Rim Trail is melting (LOTS of snow melt indicated over the weekend) It should clear up enough to get in and do the trail opening soon. I'm trying to get some info on when the Club will be doing the trail maint and clearing.
