Has anyone had issues with the Kicker KEY500.1 not responding to a Kicker remote control bass knob?

Yesterday I replaced the Kicker CXA800.1 I've been running since December 2022 with a KEY500.1. Set the gain using Kicker's instructions/sound file with the remote plugged in, knob fully clockwise. Exit the gain setup and amp doesn't respond to the remote whatsoever.

Noticed the current remote Kicker sells is a Kicker 46CXARCT. I was using a Kicker 43CXARC purchased in 2017. Made a run to Best Buy to purchase the "updated" remote.

Still no change to sound level via the remote.

Am I doing something wrong with the KEY setup?

ETA: Contacted Crutchfield. They're sending a replacement to try.

really dumb, but you physically unplugged the 3.5mm remote cable, then plugged it in, and made sure it fully inserted on both ends?

i've had some issues with newer devices having really tight 3.5mm jacks, and i'll be positive i inserted the jack all the way only to run into problems where it wasn't inserted all the way.

    Not dumb at all.

Made sure it was inserted far as it could go on the amp side.

Had the original remote already installed in a dash blank used with the Kicker CXA800.1 amp so no change on that end.

Did notice the remote input on the KEY amp looked slightly recessed from the face so that very well could be the issue.

Will know for sure once the replacement amp comes in!

Got the new amp in and it works.

Bad input jack on the first one.
