this is what I wore when I had my FatBob. I wear it on my monkey just so I look bad ass. lol. It’s a speed and strength . It’s actually pretty comfortable and I did switch back and forth with my shoei at the track. It worked good.

Simpson started more as an auto racing helmet. I knew several drag racers and circle track drivers that loved them but that's a whole different use. I don't know any riders using them.

I have a ss helmet also although it was comfy I wasn't a fan. Way to much wind noise. I keep it for the lady friends that want to ride along.

Finally yelled at my brother to get his ass back on the bike again. He has 2016 bmw s1000r it's been 2 years since he rode it. I never liked riding in big groups and he's the only person I liked riding with. Talked to him last night cuz he never responds to texts. He said I know I'll pull out of storage. He built this harley over 12yrs

For those participating in the DGR today, safe travels and I hope good weather for all of you. I'mean heading out later this morning for Classic Motorcycle Day in Mt Airy, MD. This year's featured marquee is Italian brands. Hope to get some good pics.

I scored a sweet Roland Sands jacket from an eBay auction! It’s exactly what I picture when I think of a 1970’s era enduro jacket.

Makes me reminisce about reading Ed Hertfelder‘s classic and hilarious CycleWorld “Duct Tapes” column.

Got home a little bit ago. Major traffic problem right by my house and neighbors tell me it's been all day. From what I understand there was a motorcycle accident on the highway close to my house. Apparently fatal but nothing yet on the news. Highway is closed at 2 exits and traffic being redirected. Classic Motorcycle Day was a little disappointing in terms of vendors. I don't think there were more than maybe 30-40 tops? Bikes in the judged show were impressive as always. A few pics.

1981 Kawasaki GPZ-750. First bike I ever owned. Not this particular one but one like it. I never took any pics of that first bike and didn't have it very long. Don't see many of these anymore.

1985-1987 Ducati 750 F1 I actually got to ride one of these back in the late '80s. Race bike put on the street. The one I rode had turn signals mounted. It had simple velocity stacks on the carbs with a screen over the opening. Twist the throttle at a stop and you could feel it try to suck your pants leg into the carbs. That seat is nothing more than some leather over plywood but Holy Shit was it responsive.

I think if it hadn't poured rain yesterday and the weather had been just a bit sunnier this morning there the turnout would have been much larger.

Motor Bicycle.... Same same right? I mean... It does make more torque than probably lots of the motorcycles in this thread! (63ftlbs peak) Yeah I said it!

Got out on a ride on the new YT Decoy MX eMTB this morning on its first official ride after initial setup. 2000k of elevation gain over 13 miles and I never touched the full send assist mode just moderate level that I actually turned down 20%. This is the closest thing to dirtbiking I can do legally local. The fun factor is off the charts!!!!! I have ridden hundreds of miles on a regular non ebike of a similar quite aggressive level of suspension/brakes/chassis geometry, but was always limited to 3-5mi loops simply due to time and physical abilities, which inevitably turned me off to it and I stopped riding all together. Now I can get out and be active and make it as hard or as easy as I want AND cover lots of ground. Zero regrets with this purchase.

    20240519_112112.jpg

And to top the day off, went on an 80 mile canyon rip/PCH cruise on the super tenere with my buddy on his tiger 1200 this afternoon, then hopped on the xt225 to go run some errands.

Part of me wants to pull the wr450 out and go do a short ride for a full heat cycle to simply check the box of riding alllllll the two wheeled things today!

Happy Sunday everyone! Kick some ass on the week ahead!

I don’t think Simpson is reputable at all for motorcycle helmets. I’m sure it’s “good enough” but I’d want something better personally, as sated they started as auto racing helmets.

Ruroc’s aren’t bad, but they are expensive, and I found my 4.0 to be too loud, large and ventilation lacking compared to my AGV, and Agv isn’t exactly known to excel in any of those except ventilation. Ruroc does have a completely new model slated to come out soon so that might be better

@gilligoon i no longer have those old fox kneepads, forgot I sold them a while back unfortunately

Does anyone have any experience with Bering gear? Found this somehow and seems to get good reviews. It's made in France

Added a 390 adventure to the lineup on Friday. So far it’s proving to be a fun little ride. So much easier to handle than the 1090R ever was.

PSSSSH talk about a hellllll of a flex. That looks like an awesome lineup. Those "lil" adv bikes sound like a hoot to ride! I have not unfortunately got a chance to ride anything in that ktm 390 powered platform but really want to, I think it would be a super fun localish/lower speed bike for sure (and im saying lower speed in the sense of not doing 80+mph for miles on end)

Awesome! How do you like the motor? I love the 390 in my RC.

Speaking of which, I didn't head down south today to go drifting just because riding 12 hours to drift for 5 didn't make much sense to me, and I still had things to finish around the house.

I did go out on a ride with some friends, and I found out my Cardo's mic has stopped working, which is frustrating. The bike was amazing, as usual.

    upload_2024-5-19_22-8-45.png

Then went to the storage unit to clear it out and grab the other two bikes:

    upload_2024-5-19_22-9-34.png

Then I spent the rest of the day cleaning the garage and making another hanging platform so I can actually fit everything in the garage.

    upload_2024-5-19_22-10-25.png

Pretty productive day, and I'm happy to have my other two bikes back. I'm not sure how wheelie practice is going to go on the Grom though, since even sitting on it felt weird.
