Hey all, I Installed 265/70/R16 Goodyear Duratacs about 3k miles ago. (Stock suspension) and just got back from Discount today where a rebalance showed 1 wheel 2 Oz out of balance...I've had some other vibe issues going on that this kinda got mixed in with but as it slowly got worse and I got everything else fixed up I realized I truly did have a wheel out of balance.

This just seems crazy with so little mileage on them? I'm curious what others experience with them is, is this a wear in/one time deal or am I in store for constant rebalancing? It's not the end of the world I guess, I'll have Discount rotate pretty regularly anyway since it's free and they can check balance frequently but still, might get a different tire next time if this is what I'm in for. Thanks!

I had a good set, but they are far from a perfect tire. We usually dont see issues until they are about 50-60% worn.

I'd say wear it down and rebalance it next rotation. Make sure to do cross rotations with Duratracs or they get loud and feather worse than normal.

They are a fairly aggressive tire and this is just the way it goes sometimes.

With just one tire out by 2oz, It sounds like you may have thrown a weight.

Good point, this makes the most sense logically. Tires look ok otherwise. Bit of a knee jerk reaction, I had heard some others who have had trouble with them but that may have been closer to end of life with wear. Im definitely very happy with them so far, and happy that I went with Discount, yall are even helping me out on TW!

Have not had balancing issues after 4 years of summer use. They are getting increasingly loud. Cross rotation is a good idea.
