I’m trying to track down a clunking sounds when I accelerate hard from a full stop and the wheel is turned. I hadn’t thought that it was the cv axle since there’s no continuous clicking sounds when the car is moving and the wheel is turned. Today I went to see if there was some play in the cv axles and there is on both sides. The drivers side has a lot of grease on the shaft too.

the control arm bushing/bolts can make a clunk. Even more so when you turn the wheels.
As for the play, it looks normal to me. The grease on the drivers axle is NOT normal. Look for tears on the boot.
