No argument from me - I am coming at it not as a being the victim of targeted action but as a victim of convenient/random mischief. Cheers

The beauty of yearly rustproofing the whole truck, not just the Frame!

I'm pretty sure that they caught the Sugar in the Gas Tank bandit.

    Good PSA.

Also, don’t go nuts with the lube and grease like I did. Now the damn thing swings open so effortlessly I’m afraid one of my kids might walk past and bump and bend the cheap-ass fuel door when I’m gassing up. Can we get the name of the Tacoma guy that designed the fuel door? He’s going on my list.

I have the locking gas cap on the left side of post #61. No CEL light in 8 years. I work at a high school and want to keep funny stuff out of my tank. One day I left school and got on the freeway. Looked in the rear view mirror and noticed napkins and empty pizza boxes were thrown in my open bed. Kids will be kids I guess.

I had my dealer remove half a tank of fuel for shipping. You think they had to dropped the tank?

    Yep.

With that said, I’ve shipped vehicles for 20 years and I’ve never had them need to drain the tank before shipping.

Not a subject I've read about here on TW...the option to have remote release fuel door.

Here's the two products I bought:

That's strange, shipped a few cars and never had fuel drained for it.

The last Toyota truck that had a lock on the fuel was the last gen Toyota truck...89-94. The door had a lock on it. After that Toyota said your on your own! Free fuel for everyone!

We are upgrading from 20 yr old vehicles - 1st we got a low mileage 19 Rav4 with a remote release and then the 22 Tacoma which does not - seemed odd within a single manufacturer to have different approaches to this feature... I appreciate everyone's input.
