my 95-1/2" Taco SX was completely overbuilt and a pure beast. 4cyl 4:10's and a MT. by far the best truck I ever owned. Leaf springs failed and the windshield whistled, but they fixed both. still kick myself for letting it go. My present G3 isnt really even comparable.

No problem I do think that you are able to disable seat belt chimes with the Carista plug I’m not sure about the windows with 3rd gen. Either way I hope this helps everyone idk what moron at Toyota thought it was a good idea to have fake engine noise inside the cab.

The 24 Tundra sounds like a cam'd Camaro with Flowmasters coming through the speakers.

I don’t know when it started, but I guess Toyota wanted a 4 cylinder turbo to sound like a Corvette inside.

The sound that the Tacoma makes is almost inaudible. In the Tundra, I can hear it over my music playing through Carplay.

The OP didn’t think so. Do you have two 2024 trucks now?

    He's wrong.

I've been driving a loaner '24 Tundra premium for the past 2 weeks, because the Tacoma Grill Shutter Malfunction caught up to my truck, just like it will everyone else's. The '24 Tacoma's need a recall IMO, but Toyota doesn't want their precious new truck to end up in the headlines of auto-blogs and youtube videos.

I highly doubt you'll find anyone at a dealership who can properly listen to this new engine and know anything about how it is supposed to sound. After a few years of this engine and powertrain being used, the techs at dealerships will know what it sounds like new and functional, new and broken, used and functional and then used and broken.

Do your best to document what happened, record it, keep a log of situations that trigger it, and save your correspondence with Toyota as much as possible. Once there's a certain critical mass of these trucks in circulation, you will have a baseline of "normal" and "abnormal."

That's a good tip. I need to give that a try. I noticed that rattling sound as well on mine. It's usually between 1000 and 2000 RPM, tends to be with moderate throttle input under load (like an uphill on ramp), and almost only in eco mode. It sounded like knocking or maybe like a loose heat shield rattling.

Have not heard it as much in normal and I have not heard it at all in sport mode. Makes me wonder if it's some sort of resonance with a loose part in the engine bay or almost like the gear is too low for that engine RPM. It's kind of like starting out in third on a manual and you get that nasty dieseling grumbling.
