I’m about ready to pull the trigger on these speakers, tweeters and subs. What would you guys suggest for amps for them. Was thinking two kicker keys (one behind headunit and one for sub) or should I do a 5 channel Uber the seat to power all. Looking for something that would be easiest to install with fewest amount of parts. Also would I need a loc with either of the options? Tia

I'm not sure that sub will fit if you're intending to go behind the back seat

You'll regret doing the 3-way 6x9's up front. That will give you FOUR tweeters in your front stage. And those CS series are very bright. Your highs will be super harsh.

For about $20 more, you can get the KS 6x9 components for the front and then 6.5" coaxials for the rear. Much smoother speakers and will be much more balanced than having all those tweeters by your feet.

As for amps, either of your choices is fine. The Key amps give you the benefit of Auto-EQ and time alignment if you dont plan on upgrading the head unit any time soon, or ever. No LOC needed with them.

A basic 5-channel amp will limit your eq options to the 3-band in the radio. so basically very little.

But they’re not more expensive than the CS set plus the Subaru tweeters

Ohhh so I can use those tweeters as replacements. Sorry don’t know much about car audio. So then with those do I have to run a new wire from the crossover up to the tweeter? Or just factory wiring. As for the kicker key amp. The mic that comes with it for turning does that stay plugged in all the time or can disconnect after it’s done tuning?

you would need to run a little wire from the crossover to the tweeter. but it will offer better sound than the subaru tweeters, as the crossover parts are much higher quality, which allow for better power handling of the amp addition.

the mic can be disconnected after programming, though many times it's better to leave it the amp and bundled into the cables, so that you have access to it later if needed. sometimes unplugging it and stowing it away somewhere else can lead to it disappearing on you.

either of those are fine. of note, the only difference in those two is the mounting hole options in the outer ring. all the core speaker parts are the same. because of the adapters required to adapt the toyota opening to a more standard 6.5" speaker opening, either will work exactly the same.

but that said, even with the amp, you're not going to get all that great of sound from the rear speakers--the rear doors just aren't great acoustically. i would instead suggest saving some of your money and get the kicker cs speakers instead.

According to the show off your subs thread, the 6.75" version fits with plastics , but might be a little light on bass.

I want to say the 10" version was too wide at the bottom to fit without midification

So I ordered the kss690 fronts with the recommended harnesses from crutchfield and should be arriving tomorrow. Question is where do I mount the crossover (assuming door?) and I’m also assuming I have to run the wires from the crossover up to the tweeters?

Is it the 1 that’s black and white with a female plug on 1 end and a short piece with another really long piece?

I have this amp, pretty much new, I'd be willing to let go. I bought it back around Christmas time. Installed and used for probably 20 hours before I swapped out with something bigger. Not sure what kind of power you're looking for but it does 4x50rms and 500rms sub in a fairly small package, I was impressed. Let me know if you're interested.

It’s the bottom picture that’s what I’m talking about. Crutchfield is not accounting for you to redo the system. So they gave you a harness that plugs into the dash speaker harness from the radio. In my opinion it would be easier for you to run all new wire. From the amp to crossover then from crossover to door speakers and from crossover to components.

Tweeter will connect straight to the crossover.
    Then follow this.
