I've been looking for a while now for a larger screen unit 10-14" for my '23 OF-TRD and my search keeps taking me back to the HEIGH10 and I was planning on getting the RB10TAC16B Kit to replace my stock unit but I have been having trouble finding information on one subject.

Does the HEIGH10 retain the ability to turn on/off/modify the built in vehicle hotspot? I use it quite a bit since I like to work from different locations and it would be a dealbreaker if the setting can't be managed.

I can’t find info on where it’s located, but I would place a hefty wager that the hotspot is built into the head unit. Remove that, and the hotspot goes with it.

it would not be too hard to pull the head unit and find out. I suspect it is located in the module that has the imei, located behind the glove box, and not in the head unit. Have been planning to un-internet my truck in case some hostile hackers hack Toyota

why not just get a standalone hotspot and stop using the Toyota one, like various major cellular carriers make, not tied to your vehicle

Now that I think of it that might not be the worst idea to get dedicated puck and maybe a cell booster like I've been wanting to.

Once the OEM head unit is removed, the truck's hotspot is lost. I just experienced this over the weekend. If there is a way to get an adapter to retrofit and maintain the hotspot, I have not found it yet. This is a bummer for me because the Stinger unit only lasted half a day before I removed it and reinstalled the OEM head unit (lo and behold, the hotspot is back). And I just didn't like the size, the poor resolution, and it didn't sound very good. So total bummer for me. I'm going to list the Stinger unit on Facebook Marketplace to see if anyone wants it.
