Transmission Adapter

I have an 06 tacoma with the 4.0 in it that I ended up hydrolocking. I have always wanted to do an ls swap on it but I have never had a good reason to until now. I would rather not put a Chevy trans in the truck because then I am assuming I have to get a new driveshaft and figure out how to get the 4x4 back working. Has anyone ever heard of a adapter to go from a 5.3 ls to the factory manual 6 speed 4x4 transmission in my truck?

 

No, never heard or seen one.
You're going to need to do modifications to get the engine to fit.
What are a few more mods to making a transmission fit?

I think you d be better of dropping in another 1GR and slapping a S/C on it.
You'll be in LS territory then, and it will all be drop-in.

 

I’m aware of the modifications I’m just wanting to do it because ls’ are cheap and parts are easy to find. I beat the hell out of the truck it’s more of just a hunting rig than anything. And I’ve read in a few places the 5.3 motor mounts and the stock motor mounts are about the same. I was already figuring have to change them out though if I was going to run an adapter.
