Tune for the new 24 Tacoma?

I havent done any research yet because my 2022 Army Green Tacoma Sport 4x4 was totaled 2 nights ago because of being rear ended by someone not paying attention (bent frame…it was determined by her insurance and mine it was her fault because I had a dash cam proving she was at fault and had time to stop. She lied saying I stopped in the middle of the highway (she didn’t know I had a dash cam) but the truth was 2 cars in front of me slowed down to like 25 for unknown reasons, everyone braked, she didn’t, and clobbered me)…. Anyway, I had a Kdmax tune on my Tacoma and loved it and I was wondering if there are new tunes for the 24 Tacomas (Sport 4x4 or OffRoad4x4), and if so what your personal thoughts are on them…

 

It’s in the works. VF Tuner just released the software for them last week. It will take a bit of time, but I can tell you right now that premium fuel will give substantial power gains.

 

Coming soon. Expect a few months of research, development and testing. Be weary of anyone rushing to release something.

 

So I still have a VF tuner device from when I had my Magnuson supercharger installed on my 2023 Tacoma. Will the VF tuner work on my 2024? I'm thinking about selling the device but I don't know much about it.

 

That device will not work on the 2024+ Tacoma. You'll have to purchase the WiFlash device which is the successor to the Tactrix kits.

 

Unfortunately soon to be obsolete. Trade in value is around $75 I believe. Not sure on open market.

 

So before I pay the $99 just want to confirm. I send in my old device I was using to flash my ‘21 Tacoma and they’ll send me the new WiFlash for new Tacomas?

BMS / JB4 I’m sure will be releasing their version soon too. Best piggyback system I’ve ever experienced. On a different turbo platform, but worked really well. Right now they have the 2.4 Highlander at 40hp increase to the wheels.

A good ECU tune will be better as it can offer more control, particularly timing. I used to run both, the jb4 and an ECU tune. You can configure them stacked for certain purposes. I had the JB4 for boost control, water / methanol control, & logging after tuning the ecu on my Stinger GT2. Looking forward to seeing what OTT releases. When it comes to turbos, OEM’s tend to be more strict about tuning and denying warranty.
