The solution is changing out the round silencer pads for thicker ones.

Dorman 31067 Rear Leaf Spring Inserts Compatible with Select Models, 2 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000TYU0FM

I used these, but also had to ditch the gold keeper bolts on the leaf brackets bc the added thickness made the leaf packs a little thicker. No ill effects from it. But im also level 3 on the icons. Gained about 1/2" height from the pads too.

Can also use the dobinson greasable pins for the bushings on the leaf packs and shackles. And there are some leaf sleaves as an option too. But the round pads had the most impact, grease them and grease each leaf as well.

I had my icons apart a few times trying out all of these options.

What option are you on ? I am mostly empty - I have a trunk full of recovery gear and a few spare parts but that can't be more than a 100 pounds if that and the added weight of a 285 spare. I am on option 1 and no squeaks . . . . so far.

Option 1. I run about 225lbs of armor (sliders) and 75lbs of roof rack. Was silent until the first few rains, now it creaks like hell. Heck, I tossed a 40lb pelican case in the back seat and it creaked.

I had option two for over five years until last week when I installed the add-a-leaf to replace it with option three. I'll have an Apogee rear bumper with a tire carrier installed next month and a Go Fast Camper installed by mid-to-late July.

I forgot about the sliders and skid plates . . . but they are not over the rear leaf springs. Oh well I guess my day of squeaking will come.

My wife noticed a squeak, then I heard the squeak, then it annoyed me. It’s a rubber bushing squeak. I spayed done lube on the bushings and let it soak in no more squeak.

Also, anyone have to shim up the drivers side? I know there’s extra weight over on that side but it looks about 3/4 - 1” lower on that side looking straight at it from the back.

I’ve had RXT pack for a while. Only squeak I’ve had was bushing. As said above little lube good as new for a while then re apply

Not sure if this is the right place to drop this questions but the more I've read the more I've been getting confused.

I'm wanted to add the Icon RXT in option 2 to my 2010 Tacoma (sorry I know this is a gen 3 section) and I should get about 2.25" of lift. I've been talking with Shock Surplus and they are telling me that neither the Bilstein 5100 for the 5160's are going to give me enough room to lift the rear. Can I safely run 5100's or the 6112/5160 combo? I'm thinking I'll run about 2.2" up front and the 2.25 with the RXT in the rear.

I have read a Rep for Icon say the rtx leafs will even work with stock shocks.

Yeah they'll work. They'll just top out before the leaf pack does. Ideally the leaf spring should be the limiting factor at full droop.

Standard 5100s are gonna be pretty short though. Go with a 5160 if the budget allows or a 5125 otherwise.

What about the standard Fox shocks that come on a '22 Pro? Would they be too short if I went with option 2?
