Any thoughts on the 4 gen as a short, daily commuter to and from work and occasional long trips 8-10 hours? If you had/have a 3rd gen is the ride noticeable better?

    Thanks in advance all.

I had a 2022 as my daily commuter (20 miles each way) and would take weekend drives for 5+ hours. I hated the seat in my 2022 after an hour, super uncomfortable for long rides (for me anyway, I know they will fit everyone a bit different). I had 32,500 miles on my 2022 when I traded it in.

I now have a 2024 with 1,000 miles on it and have been using it as my commuter for almost a month now. I did a 250 mile roundtrip road trip on Thursday -- night and day difference as far as ride quality and comfort of the seat. The 2022 reminds me of a 1970's folding vinyl lawn chair, and the 2024 feels like a deluxe Lazy Boy recliner!

So far there is nothing I don't like better on my 2024!

I have yet to drive one, but keep in mind that the suspension on the Sport models is different from the ORs.

What trim do you have? I know it will only impact it so much but still.

I have a 2020 and a 70 mile commute. Looking at a new Tacoma or 4R once I get to sit in one and see. 90% sure I’m going to make the switch.

I test drove the 4th gen I liked the seats … but still prefer my 3rd gen. Maybe my butt has molded to my seats so it feels more comfortable . I have done many long trips in my truck with no issues . The seats in the 4h gen are wider but the seat does feel low to me . The 4th gen had no power seats so might be why it felt low .

Thank you for the responses all. At least for me, I found it a bit easier getting in and out of the 4th gen (TRD OR). Maybe because the truck was bit higher...or at least felt that way. The seats in the 4th gen did feel a bit more comfortable, but I was not in either the 3rd or 4th gen long enough to draw a conclusion.
