I recently bought a 2018 TRD Sport. I’m wanting to replace the rims and keep the current tire setup. I read that the rim width for this tire is 7.5-9”. The listed rim width for the TRD Pro 17’s is 7”. Does anyone know if this rim will not work for my tires?

If you care what the tire manufacturer says, then no, the 7” run is too narrow.

if you’re a mall crawler/street with no off road you should be fine.

If you regularly air down fairly low you may have issues.

They will be fine. Dudes run that set up pretty frequently with no issues.

Thanks for the replies. Think I’m gonna pull the trigger on those rims. Cheers

Don’t do this, use wheels that fit. Tires are the only contact you have with the road. There’s a reason the manufacturer didn’t go with 7”upload_2024-5-25_13-8-51.png
Also, if your tire is wider than the recommended size for your particular rim, the tire could lose some air. Any deviation from the recommended size for your particular rim can have a negative impact on Rim Ringz™ and it could fall off the rim.
