To get to the oil filter. The TRD Pro skid has an access door on the skid. The TRD off road cheapo skid has to be removed entirely. I do oil every 5k. So I pull the skid about 3 times per year.

To be honest, I never considered putting anti seize on the threads… I’m just a hobbyist learning as I go! I thought the culprit of the problem was my 12-point socket combined with the cheapo soft rusting metal of the bolts… maybe I’ll slap some anti seize on the new aluminum bolts next oil change. Thanks!

Installed the SS3 Pros Friday and this AM grabbed these off CL with a set of lugnuts. Not sure when I'll get some new tires to go with them but the deal seemed good and they're near new takeoffs.

It’s a swisstech. Unsure of the model. It was a gift to all the groomsmen in a wedding I was recently in. Blade feels nice and it has a smooth spring opening.

Front seat jackers and molle panel by yota TV. Wanted to go with desert does it, but couldn’t justify spending twice as much for seemingly same quality product. Picked the jackers (just 1 seat) and Molle panel for $132 total.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Been putzing with this project for a couple of weeks, in between other things. Mounted and wired an Auxbeam 6 switch panel, rewired my 20" light bar, added 2-7" light bars in the rear bumper, and topped it all off with ditch lights.

Stainless steel is almost always a softer material than it's equal sized carbon steel counterpart. Low carbon content in the stainless means that it can not be hardened. So, when you go to torque it down, it'll need to be torqued to a lower value. Meaning it's not always the right choice for some off-roading parts. But, if you don't do much off-roading, I'm sure they are fine to simply hold the skid plate. Max torque on an M8 stainless bolt is 11 ftlbs with thread lubricant. On a class 8.8 carbon steel bolt of the same size, it's 16 ftlbs.

I added bug screens to the camper shell, so I can actually camp in it. I couldn't figure out a good way to attach it until I thought of hot glue. It turned out to be super easy. I used about two glue sticks, and it took 20-30 minutes. It's semi-permanent, but the glue can peel off the aluminum trim if I need to remove it.

If it rains I'll just put some kind of stick or block in the windows so they are only open a few inches. If it's hot I'll leave them wide open.

The bug mesh was $12 on Amazon for a 5'x10' piece.

I've been waiting to pull the trigger on the new Apogee bumpers. Please post a pic after the install. I was holding off because I haven't been able to gauge how far the ends stick out to accommodate the BSM.

I also built a catch to hold the back window open slightly. There are three adjustable settings. I'll use this mode if it's cold and/or windy and I just want a little ventilation. I'll use the side windows if it's hot or buggy.

Do you have any impressions on the seat jackers? I need to do the same, but the price of desert does it is out of my reach. Also, do you have a link to where you purchased them? Thanks
