My lower hinge of my gas door rusted and broke. I was thinking about trying to JB weld it back together and just let it set in place. Any other ideas on how to fix it? Thanks IMG_4654.jpg

    Replace it. Will never hold.
A little lube goes a long way

Agreed. Mine did the same thing. Just replace and Fluid film it at least once a year.

Reviving old thread. My bottom hinge just broke.I kinda did it while cleaning behind it. Has anyone tried to remove the wire part of the hinge to separate the two pieces? My door is like brand new had the side of the truck resprayed after some moron decided to run a shopping cart down the side.was hoping to salvage the door and just replace the hinge

I think you would have to bend the door hinge enough to get it off of the pin. If you are able to do it carefully it might work out fine and swap over

Anyone know if the access cab models have a different fuel door/part # than the double cabs? Just bought a 2011 access cab for my kid and the bottom hinge is also busted on his.

I made lubing the fuel door hinge a normal part of my oil change routine. Once a year won't be enough!

I’ve lubed mine and paint matched it to hide the rust but it still rubs really bad on the bottom like the door is slightly bent. I want to replace it but it looks like such a herculean task

It's not hard. I bolted mine on by removing the little cubby inside the bed and reaching through there. They sent rivets but I didn't have a rivet gun at the time.
