Highly recommend. One of my favorite all time cars was my 2002 Firehawk SLP trans-am.

Love it but I’m 53 and that is in my wheelhouse! My dad bought me a 1990 Firebird Formula for graduation. Man the memories of summer nights in that car. From racing on the backroads to meeting my wife I have nothing but great memories in that car. I find myself looking online for another one and my wife says “wow I remember when…” If I come across one it may be in my garage.

My first car was a second gen Formula 400 4 speed with a factory shaker hood option.
I wish I had known what I had back then…..they only made a couple of hundred Formula’s in 1974 with a shaker hood. I’ve been a Pontiac fan as long as I can remember and I thought it was blasphemy when GM started putting Chevrolet engine in the T/A’s.
That’s a beautiful car, I love the GTA style wheels. Third gen is my favorite body style, best of luck acquiring it.

I may be odd man out here but I REALLY like the 96 grand prix 2 doors. My sister used to have a black one and it was sweet. It was just like this one (random internet picture)

Nice but a lot of money for a car that has a select market if you ever go to resell. Good luck.

WS6 is a 90's car mag cover car I still enjoy the styling on - like the Porshe 911 Turbo and Diablo. I actually like the the 4th gen camaro's and would love to drive an ss with a manual some day.

    Nice.

Kind of like the Chevy Baretta. Pretty clean styling and proportions.

I had a 2002 Camaro SS that looked almost exactly like this one, except my wheels were chrome.

I often say that if the rest of the car had been as good as the engine I'd have never sold it.

Unfortunately, it was a terrific engine stuffed inside a Chevrolet that was ruled by bean counters.

Milk-jug plastic interior panels, transmissions and rear axles that could handle the power of the LS1 until just after the warranty (mine chewed up the rear axles at 80k, 10k past warranty), and plastic front fenders that would sag if you laid a rag on them just for starters.

But man oh man, did it ever make the right noises when you stepped on the loud pedal, and pin your ears back in the process.

The main people who wanted to beat me at the light seemed to be women in V6 minivans :burnrubber:

Ah, interesting. Almost sounds like you'd need to do this treatment to make it legit.

@Azrael's Gaze, We here at Tacomaworld are informing you that if you buy the car then you have the moral obligation to run the "Bandit" plate on the front.

    EVen better..love this.

    What year is the machine?

I had an 84 when I was 18 (bought it Feb 1992). Originally brown but was painted green..not well per se, door jambs and such weren't touched. But I didn't care. Had the 5.0 with the 4 barrel Quadrabog. $700 at a govt auction..original owner was the DEA. I never found out what it was about but I was told they had hyped it up some. I did add the Hypertech chip shortly after purchase.

Thing was a sleeper..no spoiler, scoop, effects, basic rims. Only clue was the F41 on the bumper (the Z28 suspension even though mine was a base. I kept the stock exhaust and it was quiet..but I had fun laughing at Mustang GTs with that car.

Loved that car but sold it after about 2.5 yrs. Transmission kept croaking, in part b/c one of the rebuilds wasn't done right and the shop closed shortly after.

Sorry I never got past the 1st post. 5k down and $200 a month that's 7yrs with zero interest. With 5k down your going to need at least $500 month for 3 years with zero interest, goes up from there with interest.
IMO that's the kind of car you need to pay cash for.

I had a couple. A red 2002 35th anniversary and SLP #260 (2002 SOM). They're great with full suspension and bracing, but they rattle a lot. The Pontiacs were much better looking cars. The seats were nicer too.
