I’ve been enjoying this setup in my second gen for about a year now and absolutely love it. I had La Jolla Audio (in La Jolla CA) do the work and couldn’t be happier. We went with a full audio frog setup - door woofers, tweeters, cross-overs and amp. Pioneer head unit with wireless CarPlay. It sounds amazing and has held up perfectly - no rattles or issues.

Good to see that space being used for a 6x9. People falsely gave that entire size class a bad rap for a long time..More cone area equals more ability to move air and have better bass response than a standard 6.5 inch. I'd imagine being able to high pass those down to 50-60 HZ with no issues at all...I had a pair of infinity kappa 6x9's in a past install mounted in the rear deck powered off the rear channels of a pioneer deck and they were awesome sounding. The front components were powered by an amp as was a single 12 inch sub. Man that system rocked. I could HP the 6x9's down to 50 hertz and use the fader to control their output just slightly less volume than the front components....Sometimes those simple installs end up being the most fun...

Exactly! I was shocked by how good a simple system could sound. The biggest thing was making sure that everything was installed properly to prevent rattles…
