Question guys, Im looking to change my 265-70-17 tires for 285-70-17 (Falken).

I know I need to do some mods or/and lift a bit, BUT, I already modified my fenders a bit since I have installed spacers (1.25" spidertrax) on my 265-70-17

So, my question is, do I need to lift my tacoma anyways or is enough with my previous fender's modification that I did for my 1.25" spacers?

Attached are some pics for reference, of my current 265-70-17 BFGoodrich AT with my mods for the Spacers 1.25" .

P.s. My Tacoma is 2017 with stock suspension

    Thanks guys

A lift dosen’t minimize the rubbing when you install bigger tires, unless you never leave pavement. As soon as you compress your shocks, you’ll return to stock height. 285s aren’t big tires, you might not rub much. You’ll probably have to do the cab mount chop but that’s easy, an hour or so at an off-road shop and if they are good you won’t even know it’s done.

Oh. They’re gonna rub. Put them and cycle the suspension and start cutting.

Alignment is going to be a big factor. Will need to push the wheel foward as much as possible while also keeping the camber in spec. Viper cut makes it easier too

Lift will help clear at ride height but alignment with added caster will help move that tire away from the cab mount. I ran 285/70r17 on a 17x9+1 wheel on a 2" lift with a proper alignment and I was able run it with little to no rubbing with wheeling.
Now having said that I would say go get a good cab mount run very little to no lift and that would look deadly with a 285
