I have a 2012 Tacoma 4.0 ext cab base model. I would love to swap out my OEM radio for another Tacoma newer Bluetooth radio. I think I’ve read it can be done? What are my options?

Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Go to Best Buy and play with some radios, or hop on Crutchfield and look.

I suggest avoiding built-in navigation. It’s not good, it’s extremely hard to update, and it becomes obsolete in a year or two.

Aim for something with Apple CarPlay or android auto. These will allow you to use the map service of your choice (google maps, Waze, Apple Maps, etc)

for satellite radio, nearly all major brand aftermarket radios will support it, but they will all need the sxv300 module ($60) added on.

none of them will be plug and play, unless you look at the Joying units or similar

skip the oem units and get a aftermarket unit with kenwood
it will sound much better than a oem unit.

I have a Kenwood and i love it. i swapped a 2015 unit in my 2010 and it wasn’t worth it whatsoever as it sounded no different than the factory unit. wish i never did that and went car play to begin with
