Picked up my 2007 DCSB Sport a few years ago. I think I started a thread to keep track of things but it time to start over!

Posting a place holder for now, will add pics and details shortly.

Currently getting ready to swap in a minty frame...

    The Beginning

I brought this truck home in 2015 with 123,000 km on it. The previous owner is a really cool guy and had his truck done up perfectly for him with tinted tail lights, one piece fiberglass tonneau cover, and nice looking aftermarket rims on spacers.

I am not cool, and started to take things in another direction. First up I needed a rack to carry a couple of canoes, and that meant the tonneau cover needed to go! I welded up a back rack from 1" square tube and mounted it to the accessory rails in the box. A second rack for the rear with the same profile was set up to be easily removed and replaced without tools. A third top piece extended over the cab giving me a set of crossbars 8' apart. Held 2 canoes beautifully, and got me and my friends deep into the woods to start our more remote paddling trips. This was and is the primary reason the Tacoma was selected as my family's second vehicle.

Along the way we got into some overnights camping off woods roads throughout the winter and spring, and based on challenges encountered along the way I ended up with 285's on older factory Toyota steel rims with a little more offset, a DIY skidplate in 3/16" plate steel, bolt on DIY sliders, OME 886 coils, SPC UCAs, a helper spring in the rear from a local spring shop, and a ARB front bumper with a 11,500lbs Superwinch. I was thinking my next move would be a custom bed for a little more clearance in the rear and to enable loading and unloading the camping gear more easily but then...

I found a rust hole in the frame rail.
