Morning boys. Coffee and a hike on the agenda this morning. Then maybe some fishin later this afternoon. Or a nap. Kinda undecided

My grandson is done on Thursday, with a 1/2 day. He has 3 finals today and 1 tomorrow, after having 3 on Friday. I know he's ready for school to be out.

Motorcycle racing is badd ass. I went to the first MotoGP race at Laguna Seca (Monterrey, CA) in 2005, and have been to a few AMA Super Bike races at Sears Point (Sonoma, CA). Those riders have serious courage. But the Isle Of Mann is unique. I rode a Yamaha R1 (just street riding, never raced it) for about 10 years. I will never understand how the Isle Of Mann riders can be comfortable riding with balls that fucking big. That race puts MotoGP, or any other race to shame. Not only are they going just as fast as GP or SuperBike racers, but race tracks are meticulously groomed and prepped for every race, the surface is perfect. There are no trees/buildings to cast ransom shadows on the track surface, to fuck with your head as you ride. You only have to worry about memorizing maybe 10 - 12 turns, how hard they break, are they off camber.... Of course a lot of riders have been killed riding the Isle Of Mann since it started, far more than GP or SuperBike racers. But for sheer courage and immunity to fear.... the IOM riders win, hands down.:101010:

The 2024 Isle Of Mann tt race started yesterday and there's a daily recap of the previous day on YouTube

Here's a wild video of a new camera location on the bikes . This rider even though he looked slow entering and exiting corners was only 5 min off the lap record set by Peter Hickman last year . He did a lap at 136.358 mph / 16 minutes 16.4 seconds
