I owned a bike shop in the 80’s, and saw a lot of the great BMX bikes and parts. Still have a scar from a Hutch pedal on my shin (and I’m going on Medicare this year… LOL). Built lots of race bikes, and lots of wheels.

Nuff said re Hutch pedal. I had the Suntour bear traps on my race bike (Supergoose) and would only use those on race day. Very jealous re owning a shop.

Have to find a pic of the one I mentioned, 1997 Torker TFX but it's a throwback to the 80s ones. Grabbed it for $150 complete and guy had a set of Troxel Trackmaster mags he threw in as well.

My 85 Hutch Wind Styler, bought the frameset from a buddy and built it up in 2021. Thought about powdercoating it pink (like a Woody Itson Trick Star) but it was original so I didn't.

I was more of a road racer guy. After I left the business someone asked me if there was money in bikes. I said “sure I left all mine there.” I only rode some BMX because I sponsored a small team.
