What insurance company y’all have and who did you finance it with? Im looking to refinance my truck and switch insurance. Currently everything is with Toyota. Looking to get a lower APR rate and lower insurance rate. I was paying 100 bucks for full coverage first 6 months renew 6 month renewal went up 189. Got letter in mail saying going up to 299 on next renewal, just seems oddly high for a Tacoma. No speeding trickets and no accidents.

Comparing insurance info between people is a crap shoot since so many factors go into your rate. So take anything with a grain of salt.

But here you go, I’m 33, live in the Portland area, and I insure 2 cars for $1250 per 6 month term.

Find a couple of long term independent agents who represent different carriers (a few may overlap) because not many rep them all.

Let them do your shopping. For apples to apples, give them your current declarations page with VINs, coverages, etc and go from there.

Keep in mind that insurance is shooting up. Because repair costs, vehicle value and medical costs are too.

For financing shopping Credit Unions seems to be a good way to go. Be sure it's better than what you have now, because you're tossing fees you've already paid out the window.

Federal credit unions usually have the best rates … geico for car insurance … u might find ones cheaper …most will offer a lower monthly rate for the first 6 months then raise it after that . These trucks seem to be more expensive lately to insure . I talked with my agent and said it was because of cost to repair went up .

Find a credit union. Usually the larger ones will offer better rates.

NavyFed if you have military background.
PenFed is a good one, without and requirements for membership.
