Paint stain from Wire Loom

Any recommendations on how to remove the stain on the roof? So far, I've only used Meguires Ultimate Wash and Wax soap. I didn't want to try anything new yet until I ask here before going blindly and wasting money on cleaners, soaps, etc. TIA

 

A good wax pre-cleaner and then some wax should do it.

 

That looks more like the look has scratched the clearcoat.

 

I think you have abrasions in the paint, tiny scratches from the loom. Those tiny scratches are holding dirt.

I'd give it a pre-wax cleaner, then some of that polishing compound to buff out the scratches, clay bar it especially in the direction of the scratches, before coating with some ceramic coating to fill the scratches in with clear

It doesn't feel like it (the paint feels very smooth), but then again, it could be micro scratches and there was paint transfer from the loom.

I'll add, use a ceramic wax, that stuff is slicker then snot. I watched a spider slide down my car after using it, thing couldn't even get a grip.

 

Maybe after the Ceramic Coat up there you lay some PPF - Paint Protective Film on it.

Looks like the wire loom is sliding back and forth from the wind and marring the paint. Meguiars ScratchX will work perfectly on than then a nice coat of your favorite wax or ceramic.

I would call these scuff marks from the wire loom. You need to use a polish first. People mix the term wax and polish all the time. They are two separate products. Just remember that a polish will smooth out paint and remove scratches and surface stains. A wax will add a layer of protection to the paint and doesn't really remove scratches.

Those stains are tricky but not hopeless. You’ve already done the right thing by not rushing into strong chemicals. A good next step might be a mild paint cleaner or finishing polish. Use a soft foam applicator and work a small section at a time by hand. If the staining is embedded more deeply, a dual-action polisher with a finishing pad can help break it down gently without removing too much clear coat. Always top it with some wax or sealant afterward to restore protection to the area.
