    Hello all,
I am a first time truck owner, and always wanted to get a 1st generation Tacoma. My wish after searching endlessly came true at the end of March 2024. I was astounded to find one in such immaculate condition. I will post a pic or two soon. I honestly can say that the exterior of the vehicle on a scale of 1-10 is a 9.85 and the interior 9.9. It's so well kept. My intent is to keep it as long as I possibly can--that would mean forever. It is a 2.7l V4, and the beauty is that it's a manual transmission. I don't enjoy driving automatic vehicles.
Anyhow, I am here to learn as much as possible from like-minded, well intentioned truck owners.
I do have a parts question, which I will post in another thread.
Thanks again for reading this and hope to collaborate with ya'll.
    Be well & safe.

Thank you. Yes, I did. That was one of the very first aspect I inspected and asked about. I did as much due diligence as I could.
I even contacted Toyota HQ and gave them the VIN. They under coated it. I had it checked and re-checked. LOL. But, that's what it takes. I live in Virginia. The vehicle has always been in Virginia, possibly a brief stint in Maryland.
The vehicle when I bought it had 45,991 miles. Checked CarFax, and everything else.
    I had it re-inspected too.

Thanks. You are 100% Spot On! I know the CarFax is not 100% kosher. It's the same when you go and resell a vehicle and they throw at you the Kelly Blue Book. It's all nonsense. I am pretty certain I made a good investment. All I now need to do is take care of it and drive it. The engine is literally just broken in at 46K when I got it nearly two months ago. Have driven 1K on it since.

    Thanks det107.
That's the plan. I am stoked and fortunate I was able to get it.
This is such a great board to be part of. Learning abut trucks. I doubt I would go back to a car.

Thank you very much. They are very hard to find. And, they are not cheap as they retain their value particularly in the last 4-5 years.

What is an i4? I always thought it is a V4. Thanks for the clarification. As for pictures, I posted them (in New Members) only in new thread.
